For the First-Time Camper

Wondering what you’ll do at Camp Watia? Our schedule is designed for campers to make friends with the other kids in their cabin, other campers with similar interests, and the whole camp each day. 

Campers will do activities with their cabinmates in the morning, choose their own activities in the afternoon, and then participate in a camp-wide evening activity.

Daily schedule
Each day at Watia is filled with opportunities for adventure, trying new things, and making positive friendships. Here’s a peek into what campers will experience during a typical day.
 

7amWake up/Morning Mayhem: Wake up and have an optional morning activity (polar bear swim, fun run, gaga, yoga, etc.).
8amFlag raising: Raise flags representing the different states and countries our campers and staff are from. Learn some fun facts about that place and share your cabin chant.
8:15amBreakfast: Eat with your cabin mates and get pumped for the day
9:15amCabin rotation: Fun activity and hanging out with cabin mates
11amCabin rotation: Fun activity and hanging out with cabin mates
12:45pmLunch: Eat with cabin mates and talk about how much fun you’ve had so far at camp
1:45pmFOB (Feet on Bunk) and cabin cleanup: Rest, get re-energized, and clean your cabin for a chance to win the Silver Broom.
3pmChoice/Free Swim/Cabin Activity 1: A rotation of free swim, cabin activities, and camper’s choice.
4:15pmChoice/Free Swim/Cabin Activity 2: A rotation of free swim, cabin activities, and camper’s choice.
5:15pmFlag lowering: Lower the flag of the day and get any announcements for the evening program.
5:45pmDinner: Eat with your cabin mates and get pumped for the evening activities
6:45pmFree time: A time to chillax and have fun with cabin mates or other campers
7:30pmEvening activity: Camp-wide event (such as campfire, capture the flag, songs and skits, cabin s’mores, typhoon, carnival, mock rock, cabin magic, etc.)
8:40pmSnack/evening embers: Eat with your cabin and head back to the cabin to chat about your day and set new goals for the next day
9:15pmShowers/bedtime: Private showers to clean off before bed
10pmLights out: Catch some z's and get re-energized for the next day
